ATACO Steel Products has manufactured precision metal components in Cedarburg, Wisconsin since 1946. The company specializes in deep draw metal stamping, with draws up to 16 inches deep, presses up to 1,700 tons, in-house engineering with FASTFORM simulation, plus 3D 5-axis laser cutting, welding, and fabrication, serving OEM customers that need parts built to tight tolerances and delivered on schedule.
The objective was to rebuild ATACO's SEO foundation so the site's real manufacturing depth would finally show up in Google. ATACO had strong capabilities but weak visibility: most of the site was not indexed, page experience was failing, and technical and content issues were holding rankings back. Steel Mountain Marketing set out to get more of the site indexed, rank for the commercial terms OEM buyers search, fix the technical and credibility problems, and rebuild measurement so results could be proven.

ATACO's manufacturing was world-class, but the website was not keeping up. Under the surface the site had a serious visibility problem. Google had crawled roughly 300 URLs but indexed only about 65, and fixes submitted in Search Console kept coming back failed. WordPress was auto-generating hundreds of junk URLs that wasted crawl budget, layout shift meant not a single page earned a Good Core Web Vitals score, redirect chains and one redirect loop were breaking dozens of pages, and key commercial pages were too thin to rank. Visible typos and outdated software names undercut trust with technical buyers.
We rebuilt the technical foundation first: added ManufacturingBusiness structured data, rebuilt the redirect strategy across both the server and WordPress (fixing chains, adding missing 301s, and standardizing www to non-www), eliminated the redirect loop that was taking down 50 or more pages, cut crawl-budget waste by disabling auto-generated author, date, and format archives, remediated the layout shift causing Core Web Vitals failures, added an HSTS security header, and cleaned up the XML sitemap.
We rewrote and expanded the capability pages (deep draw stamping, metal stamping, 3D 5-axis laser cutting, 2D fabrication, welding, engineering, and the cut and etch lab) to real service-page depth, optimized page titles and meta descriptions around target keywords, and corrected the credibility issues, including product-page misspellings and outdated software naming.
Using Semrush, we mapped a full set of commercial keywords to the right landing pages, focused on the terms OEM buyers actually use: deep draw stamping, metal stamping, stamped metal parts, laser cutting, and fabrication.
We launched an ongoing content-expansion program, rewriting thin pages to 700-plus words so they could earn indexing, published buyer-relevant content including a tariffs article on reshoring and landed cost, and strengthened internal linking from blog posts and the homepage into the commercial pages.
We rationalized the URL and redirect structure and routed internal link authority toward the pages meant to convert.
We optimized ATACO's Thomasnet industrial listing, advised on the Google Business and review profile, and added location signals to key pages.
We diagnosed a broken conversion-tracking setup and a duplicate analytics tag, monitored the backlink profile, and set up an automated weekly SEO health check covering indexing, performance, and redirects.
